25 Jalan Telang
New Built Project

25 Jalan Telang

Magtech General Construction & Trading Pte Ltd supplied and installed an FRP (GRP) sectional panel water tank at 25 Jalan Telang, a landed home in Singapore. The tank stores domestic water for the house and sits at ground level on a concrete plinth in the side passage beside the house.

PROJECT INFORMATION

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The tank measures 1.5m x 1m x 1m (H) and was assembled from SS245 grade FRP panels on a galvanised skid base. It is fitted with a manhole cover, an air vent, a brass ball float valve on the inlet, a tube level indicator and an external HDG access ladder with handrails, so the tank can be inspected and the float valve serviced without climbing on the panels.

A side passage on a landed property is a tight space to work in. The sectional format lets the panels be carried in by hand and bolted together on the plinth, which keeps the installation to a small crew and avoids any lifting equipment.

01
Scope of work
  • Supply of one SS245 grade FRP sectional panel water tank, 1.5m x 1m x 1m (H)
  • Galvanised skid base on the owner’s concrete plinth
  • Assembly of base, side and roof panels with internal reinforcement
  • Manhole, air vent, tube level indicator and brass ball float valve
  • External HDG access ladder with handrails
  • Connection openings to the house plumbing, filling, leak check and general cleaning
02
Project outcome
  • FRP domestic water tank installed at ground level on a landed home
  • 1.5m x 1m x 1m (H) sectional tank sized to the side-passage plinth
  • Ball float valve, level indicator and access ladder fitted for simple upkeep
  • Panels carried in by hand; no craneage needed
  • Tank filled, leak-checked and handed over for domestic use

Our Approach

1. Fitting the Tank to the Space

The 1.5 m by 1 m footprint matches the plinth in the passage. Because sectional tanks are built from standard panel modules, the footprint and height can follow the space available rather than the other way round.

2. Ground-Level Installation

The skid base lifts the tank clear of the plinth so the base panels stay dry and the drain can run clear. The ladder and handrails give safe access to the manhole for inspection and float valve servicing.

3. Fill, Check, Hand Over

The tank was filled to its working level, the float valve set, the joints and connections checked for leaks, and the passage cleaned before handover.

Why This Matters

Landed homes in Singapore usually need a small storage tank to feed the house, and the common mistake is to treat it as a plumbing afterthought. The tank needs a proper base, a float valve that can be reached, a way to see the water level and a lid that seals against insects. An FRP sectional tank gives all of that in a compact unit that will not rust, and it can be built in a space a one-piece tank would never fit through.

With over 35 years of experience and more than 4,000 water tanks installed across Asia, Magtech continues to deliver FRP water tank installation for landed homes across Singapore.
