Overview
This project involved an urgent FRP water tank repair in Singapore at Quartz Industrial Building, where a broken balancing flange and an active leakage point required immediate attention.
As the building was in active industrial use, water disruption during working hours was not permitted, making both timing and execution critical.
Scope of Work
- Replacement of damaged balancing flange
- Rectification of leakage point
- Sourcing of compatible flange for discontinued tank brand
- Night/evening repair works to avoid operational disruption
- Testing and reinstatement of tank system
Our Approach (Process)
1. Site Assessment & Problem Identification
Our team conducted an on-site inspection and to quickly identify the technical details for rectification works to proceed
2. Specialised Sourcing for Sekisui Tank System
The existing tank was from Sekisui, a discontinued brand with non-standard flange specifications compared to modern FRP tank systems.
Through our strong industry network, we were able to source compatible flanges quickly, avoiding delays and the need for costly modifications.
3. Strategic Work Planning (Zero Downtime Requirement)
As water shutdown during working hours was not allowed, our team scheduled the works during evening hours, ensuring no disruption to the client’s operations.
4. Repair & Replacement Works
The defective flange was replaced and leakage rectified by our experienced team, ensuring proper sealing, alignment, and system integrity.
5. Testing & Reinstatement
Upon completion, the system was checked and restored for immediate use, ensuring the tank was operational and functioning reliably.
Due to the late-night working conditions, a minor leakage point was not visible during the initial completion. Upon notification from the client the following day, our team responded promptly and carried out the necessary rectification works to resolve the issue quickly, ensuring the system was fully leak-free thereafter.
