Magtech General Construction & Trading Pte Ltd successfully completed the supply and installation of a Hot-Dipped Galvanized (HDG) pressed steel water tank at 14 Chin Bee Road, Singapore. Completed in 2025, this project stands out as one of our key installations in recent years due to the significant height and structural requirements of the tank.
The installed tank measures (3.66m + 3.66m) x 8.54m x 6.1m (H), forming a high-capacity water storage system designed for sprinkler fire protection usage. The increased height of the tank required careful consideration in both structural support and installation methodology, particularly in ensuring overall stability and long-term performance.
Due to the 6.1m tank height, additional planning was required for the base structure and installation sequence. The elevated working conditions also meant that strict work-at-height safety measures had to be implemented throughout the project, including proper access planning, supervision, and compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Our scope of work included the full assembly and installation of the sectional tank, comprising the base support structure, side panels, roof cover, internal tie-rod reinforcements, and all necessary fittings for integration with the sprinkler system. Close coordination was maintained during installation to ensure smooth execution despite the increased complexity.
The HDG pressed steel tank was designed and installed in accordance with SS22, ensuring compliance with Singapore standards for pressed steel sectional water tanks. The use of hot-dip galvanized panels provides strong corrosion resistance and durability, making it well-suited for long-term fire protection applications in Singapore’s environment.
