Magtech General Construction & Trading Pte Ltd was engaged to carry out a water tank replacement at 110C Sixth Avenue, Singapore — a landed residential property whose new homeowner discovered an existing leaking tank shortly after moving in.
Upon inspection, the existing tank was found to be an old circular FRP tank — a type that has largely fallen out of use in Singapore. These older circular tanks are well known in the industry for being particularly challenging to maintain and clean, as their rounded design and small opening makes thorough washing and access to internal surfaces difficult. With the tank already in a deteriorated and leaking condition, a full replacement with a modern sectional FRP tank was the most practical and long-term solution for the homeowner.
The replacement works, however, came with a unique set of challenges. The tank was located in the attic of the landed property, within an extremely confined and restricted space. Our team had to carefully plan and devise a method to transport and manoeuvre the tank materials up into the attic, before proceeding with the installation under very tight spatial constraints. Every step of the process required precision and adaptability to work effectively within the limited room available.
Despite these challenges, our team’s experience with complex and constrained installation environments allowed us to complete the works safely, efficiently, and to the full satisfaction of the homeowner.
Modern sectional FRP tanks offer a significant upgrade over older circular alternatives — they are easier to inspect, clean, and maintain, and are designed for long-term reliability in domestic water supply applications across landed homes in Singapore.
With extensive experience in water tank replacements for landed properties, bungalows, semi-detached, and terrace homes, Magtech is well-equipped to handle even the most challenging installation conditions — delivering dependable solutions tailored to each property’s unique requirements.
