A replacement project was carried out at Northlink Building, Singapore in 2024 following the failure and collapse of an existing water tank. The situation required urgent attention to restore water supply and ensure operational continuity for the building.
The project involved the installation of two (2) units of Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) sectional water tanks, each measuring (2+4)m x 5m x 3m (H). Given the urgency of the situation, our team worked closely with the client to plan and execute a swift replacement solution.
To support ongoing operations during the lead time, a temporary tank system was implemented by the client. Our team remained on standby throughout this period to assist with any issues related to the temporary setup, ensuring that water supply could be maintained without disruption.
Upon readiness, the replacement works were carried out efficiently, including the dismantling of existing tank and temporary tank system and then the installation of the new FRP tanks with full assembly of base structures, panels, roof components, internal reinforcements, and all necessary accessories. The works were completed with a strong focus on safety, coordination, and speed of execution.
This project highlights Magtech’s capability in responding to urgent replacement scenarios, including tank failures and emergency situations. With an experienced in-house installation team, we are able to mobilise quickly and provide practical solutions to minimise downtime and restore operations effectively.
