The replacement of an existing domestic water tank was carried out at Kim Tian Hotel, Singapore in 2025, involving the installation of a Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP/GRP) sectional tank.
The new tank, measuring (2+3)m x 3m x 3m (H), was installed to replace the existing system and improve overall reliability for the building’s domestic water usage. As with most replacement works within an operational building, careful coordination was required to ensure that the dismantling and installation process was carried out efficiently.
Works included the removal of the existing tank and the installation of the new FRP sectional panel tank, comprising the base structure, side panels, roof structure, internal reinforcements, and all necessary accessories. The installation was completed in accordance with project requirements, with attention to safety and site conditions.
FRP water tanks are commonly used for domestic applications due to their corrosion resistance and suitability for long-term use, particularly in replacement projects where structural weight and installation constraints are important considerations.
